Description: The operation performed by Syremont is part of a wider program of interventions aimed at the implementation of the project for the improvement of the tour arrangements and to potentiate the cultural offer of the Pompeii archeological site through the construction of outfittings, physical and virtual installations, multimedia production and software applications that, all together, contribute to structure and articulate the new system of the archeological site.

The intervention of Syremont affected the Ekklesiasterion area, an area of about 100 square meters near the Temple of Isis. The space is circumscribed by archeological masonry, which is in part original and in part a reconstruction, of variable height between 2.70 m and up to a maximum of about 4.50 m.

The peculiarity of the intervention was to have designed and built an infrastructure intended for use within an archeological area that is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage. Approved by the Superintendence of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabiae and the Seismic Commission, the structure is lightweight, self-supporting, detachable but statically verified according to the requirements of the category of User Class III, as required by the Technical Regulations for Construction of 2008. The foundations are superficial and consist of an adequately dimensioned ballast that did not require excavation nor anchorages for the existing structures.

The supporting structure is made entirely of truss frameworks, covered in an insulated package and finished with an extrados of copper foils and copper gutters.

A double package of perforated and not and projecting and not PVC screens, allowed us to visually integrate the structure in the archeological contest and create a confined environment inside that is suitable for daytime screenings.

Description: Participation in the tender for “Entrustment of the supply and installation of interactive (hands-on) exhibits and ancillary services for the outfitting of the new Science Museum of Trento (MUSE)”

The joint stock company Syremont, in consortium with Agorasophia Ltd. and Arkematica Ltd. participated in the public tender for the outfitting of MUSE, Science Museum of Trento in 2012.

The contract had as its object the executive design of 9 scientific, interactive, hands-on exhibits for the Museum’s permanent exhibitions.

Each exhibit was studied from different points of view: design, technical specifications, materials, interactivity, accessibility, maintainability, ergonomics, safety and resistance.

The project earned the second position of the ranking.

Description: scientific exhibition dedicated to the history and insight of Archimedes

This exhibition offers the opportunity to find out which and just how many fields of knowledge Archimedes was interested in – hydrostatics, geometry, mechanics, arithmetics – experiencing the phenomena at the base of many of his theoretical formulations first-hand through interactive exhibits.

The path focuses on the one hand on the studies related to mechanics and hydrostatics (that today we could more generally say is physics) while on the other, it presents famous solutions applied to the realization of machines conceived to facilitate the work of man or to alleviate fatigue.

During the realization, key interactive aspects were considered. The exhibits that make up the path allow the visitor to experience the phenomenon first-hand, by directly experiencing the relationship between cause and effect. It is thus possible to learn from the direct observation of what happens, what the rules, the behaviors, and the “laws” at the base of what was observed are.

A series of multimedia devices allows the visitor to explore the themes addressed in the exhibition according to personal virtual paths.

Description: interactive scientific museum dedicated to Archimedes, the greatest scientist of the classical period.

Intervention Objective: the Museum Arkimedeion stems from the desire to honor the greatest scientist of all time and, above all, to restore his dignity to continue to serve his hometown, Syracuse.

The request was that of a science museum based on innovative technology, that is highly engaging, with rigorous scientific dissertations.

It is therefore not a coincidence that we have pursued this goal and had the honor of working with Jorge Wagensberg, former director of the Science Museum of Barcelona, ​​physically illustrious and an excellent communicator. His museological theories embodied our goals and his experience has been invaluable guidance in the conception of the project since its inception.

The Arkimedion was to be the site of ” intellectual Joy ” .

… Knowledge is a vital function, like breathing, take care of your health, eat and reproduce… However, to know, to understand the reality, it is the most recent vital function and natural selection has not had time to choose a vital stimulus of necessity, such as hunger, thirst, sexual desire, pleasure or pain…

Is there something that deserves to be called ” intellectual joy “? Something like a reward that is associated with mental clues to a new understanding? Is there a mental pleasure that promotes the acquisition of new knowledge, just as there is a joy or a pain that promote nutrition , sexual reproduction or the maintenance of a minimal state of health?

….I can also add that you have tried three types of intellectual joy, one for each phase of the process of acquiring new knowledge, which, curiously, have something to do with the three basic requirements to create scientific knowledge. That is:1. The joy of intellectual stimulation and the dialectical principle of science, 2. The joy for intellectual dialogue and the principle of objectivity of science, 3. The joy of intellectual understanding and the principle of intelligibility of science.

stimulus + dialogue + comprehension = intellectual joy.

And this is the great contribution of Jorge Wagensberg and his supporters, the architect Hernan Crespo being among them. Many others have contributed to this great project that Syremont had the honor of coordinating, channeling the energies of a large multidisciplinary team to create Arkimedeion.

The Arkimedeion is also an expression of a deep feeling that comes from the awakening of a pride that has its roots in a genuinely Sicilian atmosphere and that would now be able to go back a few centuries for Cicero declared “ita nobilissima Graeciae civitas, quondam vero etiam doctissima, sui civis unius acutissimi monumentum ignorasset, nisi ab homine Arpinate didicisset”

Description:
Museum dedicated to the promotion of the territory silane, the arts and local traditions.

Intervention Objective:
The Museum of the Agrosilvopastorale Civilization, of Arts and Traditions is one of the Sila’s National Park cultural expressions, which arose thanks to the will of Ente Parco della Sila  along with Museum of olive oil and peasant civilization of Zagarise (Catanzaro) and Museum of craftwork from Sila and of soil conservation  of Longobucco (Cosenza).

The museum was established on the basis of a complex project sponsored by the Park of Sila, which aims to:

• to strengthen the knowledge of the territory of Sila Piccola, of its tangible and intangible culture and then the local cultural identity;
•  promote the area as a destination for tourists and culture, nature and sports, with particular reference to the segment of interested visitors to protected areas;
• to enhance the link between the historical and cultural heritage, ecological-environmental, food and wine.

The designers have interpreted this need and have translated it into an exhibition rich in themes of reflections that stimulate knowledge through the use of modern and engaging language. The museum project has used a system consisting of dioramas, artistic reconstructions of micro- environmental , interactive multimedia applications , photographic blow-ups, video screenings, educational workshop and screening room, indoor space and outdoor area for tasting and preparation for the visit.

A significant part of the work done in this project was the anthropological research, the study of popular traditions handed down from the memory of the older population, studies on the fauna and flora of Sila .

The biggest challenge was the awareness and involvement of the local population , the collection of objects belonging to the families of the land, their restoration and creation of a rich collection of everyday items that have accompanied the life in homes, in fields, in country houses, many of which are now in disuse .

The tour  is accessible to everyone thanks to the availability of smart phones to learn more of the issues with audio, images and text.

A large outdoor area with tables, umbrellas and native plants, welcomes visitors and allows moments of rest and outdoor workshops .

Finally a guest house features rooms with beds wardrobes and bathrooms offers the possibility to stay in the heart of Sila.

The Museum of the Oil of Olive and of the Peasant Civilization – Zagarise (Catanzaro) is one of the cultural expressions of the territory, dedicated to the work of the Park of Sila along with The Museum of Agricultural Farming Culture and local Arts& Crafts of Albi (Catanzaro) and the Museum of Arts & Crafts and Environmental Protection – Longobucco (Cosenza). The museum is housed in an old mill restored in which you can still see the facilities for processing olives.

The museum was established on the basis of a complex project sponsored by the Park of Sila, which aims to:
to strengthen the knowledge of the territory of the Sila Piccola, of its tangible and      intangible culture and then the local cultural identity;
promote the area as a destination for tourists and culture, nature and sports, with particular reference to the segment of interested visitors to protected areas;
to enhance the link between the historical and cultural heritage, ecological- environmental, food and wine.

The designers have interpreted this need and have translated it into an exhibition rich in themes of reflections that stimulate knowledge through the use of modern language and engaging. Museum dedicated to the cultural valorisation of Sila’s National Park arts and crafts and to environmental awareness and education.

Intervention Objective:
The Museum of Arts & Crafts and Environmental Protection in Longobucco (Cosenza) is one of the cultural expressions of the territory, thanks to the will of the Park of Sila along with the The Museum of Agricultural Farming Culture and local Arts& Crafts of Albi (Catanzaro)  and the Museum of the Oil of Olive and of the peasant Civilization – Zagarise. The Museum is located in the former Franciscan convent of Longobucco from the fifteenth century, already the subject of a restoration aimed to use the museum.

The Museum features a guided tour where one side is overlooking the charming courtyard of the Franciscan monastery and on the other offers themed environments on the working of stone, wood, metals and jewellery, textiles and finally on the territory and on the efforts of the Park of Sila in its maintainence. Historical figures and a graphical representation of the timeline allows one to understand the major historical events and the succession of conquerors who have left indelible marks and laid the foundation of local traditions.

A multimedia application on the territory allows you to search places, monuments , churches, museums and other points of interest located throughout the area, and to explore the cultural issues involved.

Large dioramas reconstruct the environments of the shops, work tools, men and women trained in their craft. Traditional fabrics and designs that feature the high quality textile production of Longobucco are visible in the large room dedicated to the theme of the textile processing.

This exhibition offers the opportunity to discover (or rediscover) the  breadth of research areas in which Archimedes was involved – hydrostatics, mechanics, geometry, math, physics – allowing you to experiment interactively with the principles that are the basis of the theoretical formulations studied  by Archimedes, who laid the groundwork for future studies.

The exhibition is  rich, immersive for the visitor thanks to activities that complement and supplement the experimental dimension of the exhibit, calling the visitor to read, to listen, to observe and to prove him or herself.

Intervention Objective: the exhibition offers a journey through the history of science devoted to Archimedes, the father of the ancient science of the Hellenistic era. It was designed for an audience of teenagers, and organized according to a friendly didactic  based on  games and active experimentation.

The intended objective was to stimulate the curiosity of young visitors, on the principles of physics and hydrostatic formulated for the first time since Archimedes.

The exhibition has been a great success thanks to presentation to the young audience organized with the collaboration of physician Jorge Wagensberg, director of the Science Museum of Barcelona Cosmo Caixa, and partners Agorasophia in the production of the only museum in the world dedicated to the scientist Archimedes called ARKIMEDEION, housed in the birthplace of Archimedes, Syracuse (Sicily – Italy).
